DolFinTech, one of the largest privately held money transfer companies in the United States, has launched new demand deposit accounts aimed at expanding financial access for Hispanic and underserved communities. The new banking products, announced on March 5, 2026, are powered by Green Dot’s embedded finance platform called Arc and are now available to customers online and at more than 500 DolFinTech locations nationwide, including DolEx Financial Services and Barri Money Services stores.

The company, which serves outbound remittance markets in the U.S., Canada, and Spain to more than 20 destination countries, introduced the DolEx Visa Debit Card and Barri Visa Debit Card as part of its expanded suite of financial services. According to the company, the new accounts are FDIC-insured and offer essential banking features integrated alongside DolFinTech’s existing financial services.

Enhanced Banking Features for Underserved Communities

The demand deposit accounts provide customers with direct deposit capabilities, debit card access, overdraft protection, and secure money management tools. The launch delivers an omnichannel banking experience through both retail locations and online enrollment, allowing customers to engage through their preferred channels.

Rosa Perez, director of marketing and digital at DolFinTech, stated that the company is excited by customer response to the launch. According to Perez, the seamless integration of the accounts into the existing mobile platform, combined with employee enthusiasm and strong customer adoption, reinforces the belief that DolFinTech is bringing a unique offering to the market.

Addressing Barriers to Financial Access

DolFinTech operates more than 500 company stores and 5,000 retail agent locations with an expanding digital presence. The newly launched banking offering includes several key features designed to reduce barriers to financial access for the Hispanic community and other underserved populations.

The accounts feature multilingual support in retail locations, allowing customers to conduct transactions in their preferred language. Additionally, the company accepts select forms of foreign government-issued identification, expanding access for customers often excluded from traditional banking institutions. The service combines in-person account opening and support with digital account management capabilities.

Green Dot Partnership Powers Banking Platform

The embedded finance platform provided by Green Dot enables DolFinTech to deliver modern banking services integrated into its existing customer journey. Jamison Jaworski, senior vice president and general manager of the consumer division at Green Dot, said the launch demonstrates the power of embedded finance at scale.

According to Jaworski, the Arc platform allows DolFinTech to deliver convenience, flexibility, and access that customers value while helping bridge gaps in traditional financial services. Green Dot’s platform is cloud-based, modular, and scalable, providing FDIC-insured banking products along with regulatory and compliance expertise.

Expanding Financial Services for Hispanic Markets

DolFinTech, headquartered in Houston, Texas, operates under four trusted brands with over 100 years of combined experience: Barri, DolEx, Quisqueyana, and Europhil. The company offers a comprehensive range of services including money transfer, check cashing, bill payment, mobile reloads, and money orders.

The company’s mission focuses on redefining financial services by offering accessible solutions that empower underserved communities. The new demand deposit accounts represent a significant step in DolFinTech’s digital evolution as the financial services industry undergoes broader transformation.

The banking products are currently available to customers through DolFinTech’s extensive network of retail locations and online enrollment channels. The company has not announced specific enrollment targets or expansion timelines for the new banking services beyond the current nationwide availability.
