Jack Wagner, the soap opera star and 1980s pop artist, was unmasked as the Eggplant on Fox’s The Masked Singer during the show’s Ozzfest Night episode that aired Wednesday, March 4. The reveal came after Wagner found himself in the bottom two alongside High Voltage, ultimately losing the sing-off battle and becoming the latest contestant eliminated from Season 14. Kelly Osbourne, daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, served as guest panelist for the special themed episode.
The Ozzfest Night celebration honored the music of British rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, with all remaining contestants performing the rock star’s classic hits. According to reports, Kelly Osbourne’s appearance as guest judge came just days after she attended the 2026 BRIT Awards to accept an honor on behalf of her father for his outstanding contribution to British music.
Jack Wagner Identity Revealed on The Masked Singer
During the episode, contestants including Eggplant, Galaxy Girl, High Voltage and Pangolin performed Osbourne’s 1980 debut solo single “Crazy Train,” which was a top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. However, Eggplant and High Voltage delivered performances that didn’t resonate with judges and audiences, landing them in the bottom two positions.
The two costumed performers then battled head-to-head with renditions of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man.” High Voltage ultimately prevailed in the competition, sending Eggplant to elimination and revealing Wagner beneath the purple costume.
Wagner Embraces Eggplant Character Challenge
The producers’ choice of the Eggplant character raised eyebrows due to its emoji associations. Nevertheless, Wagner approached the role with enthusiasm. “Well, I love new characters. So this was certainly a challenge to bring life to the Eggplant. It’s just such a thrill,” Wagner remarked after his unmasking, according to the show.
Wagner built his career with notable stints on popular daytime dramas including General Hospital, Santa Barbara, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Melrose Place. Additionally, he enjoyed success as a recording artist during the 1980s, landing four songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
1980s Pop Career and Ozzy Connection
Wagner’s most successful single was “All I Need,” which peaked at No. 2 on the charts in 1984. The album of the same name is one of three Wagner titles to crack the all-genres Billboard 200 albums tally, cementing his dual career as both actor and musician.
Meanwhile, Wagner revealed an unexpected connection to the Osbourne family during his time on the show. He shared that he had worked with Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, on a scene for The Bold and the Beautiful. “We did a bed scene,” Wagner said. “I was a very good boy, but we did share a hug together.”
In contrast to their usual accuracy, none of the celebrity panelists correctly identified Wagner as the Eggplant. However, panelist Ken Jeong came close with his guess of Rick Springfield, another General Hospital alum and former pop star known for his hit “Jessie’s Girl.”
Remaining Season 14 Competitors
With Wagner’s elimination as Eggplant, the remaining masked contestants in Season 14 are High Voltage, Pangolin, Galaxy Girl, Stingray, Cat Witch, Pugcasso and Crane. Wagner joins a growing list of eliminated celebrities this season including Heidi Montag, Billy Ray Cyrus, Teddi Mellencamp, Claudia Oshry, Taraji P. Henson, Tone Loc, Tiffany Haddish, Todd and Julie Chrisley, and David “Big Papi” Ortiz.
The competition continues with the remaining seven masked singers vying for the Season 14 title. Future episodes will progressively eliminate contestants until a winner is crowned, though specific air dates for upcoming episodes have not been confirmed.
