Congratulations to Cedar Key School Teacher of the Year Carrie Tomlin and Educational Support Personnel of the Year Sue Penny!

Ms. Carrie and Ms. Sue were selected for their honors by the faculty and staff at CKS.

Ms. Carrie teaches 6th grade English and math as well as middle school AVID. She is also the Sharks' cross country coach and she coaches girls basketball with her husband and fellow teacher Mr. David Tomlin. The Tomlins moved to Cedar Key four years ago because they wanted to live on an island. Before moving here, Ms. Carrie was a teacher for 19 years in North Carolina.

Ms. Sue Penny has spent her entire career at CKS and is the media clerk. Like Ms. Carrie, Ms. Sue's husband, Coach Brad, also works at CKS. Ms. Sue said the reason she has worked at CKS for 30 years was because she loves working with the kids.

Ms. Carrie and Ms. Sue will be honored by the School Board at a later date.
