A heartfelt thank you

-A A +A

On our kitchen counter, right next to the trusty and well used microwave is an angel figurine that simply says, "Heaven sends us special angels, we call them friends".

My wife and I would like to thank all our friends that enjoyed a grouper dinner at Robinson's Seafood on Sunday, Jan. 31. The food and fellowship was as good as it gets.

In addition to the dinner, numerous local businesses donated items from seven different captains 1/2 day fishing charters to airplane rides.

The turnout was wonderful and certainly no one went home hungry. First and foremost a special word of thanks goes to Carl and Eva Robinson for providing all the food and their fine restaurant and friendly and efficient staff. Head Cooks Carl and Denny Voyles cooked the grouper, hush puppies and rice 'n' beans to perfection, and with the girls and guys' help kept it coming.

Robinson's team deserves a spot on the Food or Travel Channel for sure! Listed below is to the best of my knowledge the ones that donated items: Captains AJ Brown, John Blouse, Chad Osteen, Carl Robinson, Denny Voyles, Rick Muldrow, Jimbo Keith, Sunset Isle Motel, Marina Hardware, Bill Roberts, Marvin Franks, Sue Ellen at That Place Salon in Chiefland.

Once again thanks to these and all our friends for making the event so successful. 100% of the donations have already helped pay for my medical bills from contact with Vibrio Vulnificus (a flesh eating bacteria) in Cedar Key on August 22, 2015.
