Gene Malinowski, 77, of Cedar Key died at the Select Specialty Hospital in Gainesville.  
He was born in Detroit, Mich.  Feb. 13, 1935 to the late Frank and Angeline (Solek) Malinowski.  
He was living in Mansfield Ohio in 2005 when he moved to Cedar Key.
 He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Chiefland, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an engineering professor at Ohio State University.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, sailing, art, photography and loved old cars.
