The Community Redevelopment Agency approved preliminary funding Tuesday night for City Hall property improvements.

The plan calls for a sidewalk along C Street between 1st and 2nd Streets that will act as a connection to the other sidewalks in the city. “It’s the most logical place for a connector,” said CRA Interim Director Greg Lang.

The parking lot behind City Hall will also be improved using recycled concrete. The current parking situation between City Hall and the firehouse is unpaved and has drainage problems which results in holding rain water after every storm. Landscape plants, irrigation, and edging for gravel to grass transitions are also built into the budget. With a 10 percent contingency figured in, the preliminary estimate for the project is $12,109.90.
