Candidate meet and greet
The Inglis Recreation Advisory Board Activities Committee (R.A.B.A.C.) will have a Candidate 'Meet and Greet' from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Inglis Community Center.  All qualified candidates in the Levy County election have been invited to attend.
 The following candidates have confirmed attendance: Tim Browning, Christopher Cowart, Darryl Diamond, Jamie  Griffin, Robert Hastings, Tammy Jones, Bobby McCallum, John Meeks, Cyndee Munkittrick, Evan Sullivan and Brooke Ward.
The candidates will have tables set up with information. They will be given the opportunity to speak for one minute on why they feel they are most qualified for the position they are seeking and what ideas/suggestions they have for the people of Levy.
The remaining time (after the one minute speeches) will be allotted for one-on-one with the candidates. Bring your questions and let your candidates know that we want to be an informed electorate.

Early voting starts
Early voting for the Aug. 14 primary election begins today and continues through Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Supervisor of Elections office at 421 S. Court St., Bronson.
 Voters can cast their ballots Monday through Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and on Sunday between 10 a.m. And 4 p.m.

Levy GOP opens elections office
The grand opening of the Levy County Republican Headquarters is 10 a.m..
The office, located on the backside of Chantilly Place on U.S. 27A in Bronson, will be open from  10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daily through the Aug. 14 primary election.
Beginning Aug. 15 the office will be open Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. To 8 p.m. through August.

August 11
2nd Saturday concert
Withlacoochee Area Residents Inc. will present the third of its 2nd Saturday Summer Concert Series.
Rod Sillars will take the stage at the Yankeetown-Inglis Woman’s Club at 7 p.m.  Rod's smooth voice and intricate musical style ranges from the classics of Seeger and Dylan, with some upbeat ditties.
Florida’s original bluegrass power-trio Florida Cracker Cowboys will perform at 8 p.m. The band is a spirited group that performs folk and blue grass with Florida themed originals.
There will also be a “Make your own sundae” bar. Sundaes with all the toppings and other assorted goodies will go on sale at 6:30 p.m.

Dunnellon library friends book sale
The Friends Books Store inside the Library are having a Dog Days of August half-price Book Sale LASTING all of AUGUST.  Inventory changes daily depending on the great book donations received . 
Store hours:  10am-4pm daily/10:30am-2pm Saturdays.

CK Chamber auction
The Greater Cedar Key Chamber of Commerce holds its Labor Day Auction at the Island Room.
This year's theme is Pirates and there will be Treasures Galore.

September 8
Final Second Saturday concert
The final concert in the Second Saturday series will feature Songcrafter's Circle featuring, Frank Thomas, Carly Bak, Jay Wood and Lee Paulet.
Details on the event location and time will be forthcoming.
The concerts are fundraisers for the Withlacoochee Area Residents Inc., a non-profit group.
