What can you build with straws, toothpicks, Lifesavers, and some tape?

If you are a Cedar Key School middle school student in the AVID, class you can build a go-cart!

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is designed to help students develop the skills, especially critical thinking skills, needed for college and careers.

The go-cart project was a team effort that was graded Tuesday Oct. 17, when students set their designs in front of an electric fan to see which one ran fastest.

The full list of supplies given to each group of students included: 10 Lifesavers; 10 bendy straws; 10 toothpicks; one piece of cardstock’ a 3-foot long piece of tape; and a pair of scissors.
