Cedar Key, Bronson, Williston fireworks

-A A +A

The Cedar Key Chamber of Commerce will have its fireworks show on the Fourth of July at dark on Dock Street.

The Chamber sponsors the annual event through donations and donations are still short of the $12,000 needed to pay for the display and donations are still being accepted.

For more information on the show or how to donate, please contact the Cedar Key Chamber of Commerce at 352-543-5600.

The Town of Bronson and Williston will celebrate the Independence Day on July 1 and July 3, respectfully.

Bronson will celebrate July 1, beginning at 5 p.m. Vendors selling treats will be on hand while waiting for the sky to darken when Bronson Fire and Rescue Station 70 will light up the sky with fireworks.

Bring chairs, blankets and a canned item to James H. Cobb Park, 275 Picnic St., in Bronson.

Two days later, Williston will “Let Freedom Ring” July 3 when the city of Williston hosts the annual Pre-Fourth Extravaganza.

The city-sponsored festivities begin at 5 p.m. with a parade down Noble Avenue. Floats, marching units and horses will carry out the Let Freedom Ring theme.

City Clerk Fran Taylor said last week the parade needs more entrants, especially horses. If you or your organization would like to participate in the festivities, call Taylor at city hall at 528-3060.

After the parade, head over to Horseman’s Park, where the celebration continues as live entertainment echoes throughout the park.

Local talent Fire Creek will headline the festivities this year and will be supported by songstresses, Theresa Weatherly, Miss Williston Katie Taylor and Mandy Fugate.

There will be free children’s activities and rides including a bounce house and ponies.

Please note that no

coolers or pets are allowed inside the gate.

Best of all? Everything is free! No admission charge to enter the park and no fees for excellent entertainment as you socialize with your friends and neighbors.

At dark, the skies light up with a fireworks show that will delight young and old alike.

Horseman’s Park is located three miles south of Williston off U.S. 41 – 803 SW 19th Ave.
