  • Water, electric don’t mix

        It is recommended that you have your dock and boat inspected periodically for bad wires and loose grounds. Any time a person is in the water around a dock or boat where there is AC power, electrical shock could occur.
        A boat plugged into shore power with a short on board is dangerous and the owner may not be aware of it. AC current may enter the bonding system if an AC ground becomes disconnected then electrical current can enter the water by way of a bonded thru hull fitting.

    Hey everybody, sorry for missing last week. I spent most of the week out of town and not on the water. A fishing report that is made up, not really my style. 

    This week I was able to wet a boat four days. I went to the Waccassassa River one day, Horseshoe Beach one day and the Suwannee River and my backyard good ol’ Cedar Key.

  • GTO Airboat Tournament - a local...

    The GTO Airboat 13th Annual Fishing Tournament was held in Cedar Key last Saturday, May 21 and three local men won as the third place redfish team.They were the renowned fishing guide, Lloyd Collins and his novice fishing partners, Greg Lang and Bob Hudson.

    It was a fun event and the GTO folks did a nice job. There were many nice prizes and lots of good food and fellowship. Most impressive was the GTO’s insistence that boaters idle their airboats when close to the public beach and shore, so as not to disturb people.
