  • Cedar Key fishing tournament...

The cover of the July/August issue of Airboating Magazine may feature their “Swamp Sweetie” - wearing a camo bikini, cowboy boots and hat - but it gets even better on page 44.

  • Lady Eagles survive Shark attack

In a district game on Friday night in Bronson, the Lady Eagles defeated Cedar Key 60-28. Led by junior Shay Sherman’s 15 points and eigth grader Faith Heath’s 11 points, the Lady Eagles captured its fourth district win.
Lauren Bartholemy led the Sharks with 14 points.

  • Fishin’ with Captain Danny Allen
  • Trickling river doesn’t keep...

John Edwards, clad in Spandex shorts and a torn T-shirt adorned with an airbrushed hog in a canoe, smiled as he paddled down the tea-colored waters of the Waccasassa River, effortlessly hefting his thin frame over the fallen log at the end of the race he’s competed in for 34 years.
“It’s a fun race to do,” the St. Petersburg resident said after coming in first Saturday in the Experienced Class division of the 35th Annual Wild Hog Canoe & Kayak Race in Otter Creek.

  • Fishin' Report: Weather is...

Hey everyone, sorry I was out last week, but we had big news to cover with the Florida Insider Fishing Report being in town. Rick and those guys do a great job and it was a honor having them.
It’s also been a honor to have much more calm days as the last few weeks have been very nice. It’s been awhile since ya heard that description for our weather.

  • Kingfish increasing; redfish...

Well hey folks, I hope everybody had a great Easter weekend. I actually stayed off the water for family time and because it blew its tail off. It was nice cool weather, to say the least.
We have this dark mixture of water blending into our area. To the best of my knowledge, its some river run-off. And a lot of help from lots of northwest winds. It doesn’t seem to be affecting our fishing any, just makes the water not as pretty.

  • The fishin’ was there if you...

Hey everyone, hope everybody enjoyed the weekend. It was beautiful for everything except fishin’.
If flying a kite was the plan last weekend, then you probly flew it till it fell apart.
Most charter captains canceled their trips Saturday, but no, not us. We said anyone can catch fish when it’s pretty and perfect. So we headed inside the backcountry to stay clear of the kite flying weather.
