Hello everyone.  The week was nice, the weekend was not. Now let’s hope for a rebound this week and weekend – I would like to place that order now with Mother Nature and follow with a “please” and “thank you”.

Lions, Eagles help make home-away-from-home more comfortable

Levy County Department of Public Safety thanked the Cedar Key Lions Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles for their generous donation of a barbeque grill for the Cedar Key EMS Station.

This generosity will add to the crews ability to prepare food while away from home. The EMS crews works 24-hour on shift and 48 hours off. This equates to spending one-third of their life at the EMS station.

This gift provides additional comforts while away from family members during the 24-hour shift.

EVOC driver training held

Levy County Department of Public Safety provided training to local Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services personal in the proper operation of operating Emergency Vehicles. The Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) is part of the initial training new staff members are required to complete. The training was conducted at the new Department of Public Safety Complex.

County workshop coming on Crabfest

The Williston Crabfest, an unorganized annual gathering in East Williston each April, is still getting attention because of the furor over a shooting that left one person dead and four wounded.
