Tropical Storm Andrea, packing 60 mph winds and gusts that go higher, was located at 11 a.m. at 28.2 degrees North and 84.3 degrees West. That's about 110 miles west of Tampa and about the same distance south-southeast of Apalachicola, according to the National Weather Service Advisory. 

The storm's winds , which extend out 140 miles, are not expected to strengthen further. As it comes ashore later today the winds are expected to weaken. The rains are expected to be 3 to 6 inches in the area.

A low pressure area in the Gulf of Mexico that has brought spotty rains to the area is getting more organized and the National Weather Service at Ruskin has issued several notices of foul weather that will affect Levy County residents for today and the rest of the week.

A series of public meetings have been scheduled in Levy County to explain funding that could benefit the county arising from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and resulting oil spill. 

Each branch of the Levy County Public Library System will have a series of fun, free summer library programs this year. All the programs start at 10 a.m. and will last about an hour. Each program will include a presentation, a craft, a snack and take home goodies. All materials are provided by the library and the programs are open to children of all ages.
