Last week I mentioned WiFi networks and their impact on the traveler's ability to keep in touch. WiFi can do much more than that; it can help you network your entire home.

First off, let me talk about networks in general.

One of the reasons I returned to Florida when retiring from the U.S. Navy, was to return to a warmer climate. When I left Virginia the Chesapeake Bay was frozen over - one of the worst, coldest years on record for the east coast of the Commonwealth State. The snow followed me all the way to Florida on that memorable trek back home. Florida is where I was born and Florida is where I wanted to stay and I was determined to get there.

In the first round of the District 6 1A tournament, Meadowbrook brought their "A" game, and emerged the 64-43 winner over Cedar Key.

"We didn't come out the way we wanted; we didn't execute our game plan," said Sharks' head coach Aaron Haldeman after the game.

Things continue to be on the slow side for your Cedar Key Police Department, but we are certainly not complaining at this time. We appreciate everyone's concern about DUI's, as they seemed to have hit a low ebb during the past couple of weeks. For that, all of us are very thankful. Remember: have your designated driver with you; know the taxi numbers; or call someone to pick you up, should you over indulge in alcoholic beverages, as our ZERO TOLERANCE still exists.
