Jeff Klinkenberg, who writes about Florida culture and people, will visit the Cedar Key Public Library on at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, to give a program about his unique perspective on his home state. Klinkenberg’s talk, part of the library’s current “Our Stories” series, will be an entertaining, informative look at some of the state’s more colorful people, places and events.

The CK Aquaculture Association, the Oyster Association and CK School are holding a benefit for the Berger Family, who lost everything in a recent home fire, on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the City Park. There will be entertainment, raffles, steamed clams, fried oysters, deserts and drinks
Fred and Tina Berger and their three boys are active in the community and youth athletics. Tina Berger is best known for her photographs of children participating in youth sports in Cedar Key and Chefland and her work has graced the pages of the Cedar Key Beacon and Chiefland Citizen.
