Having arrived just in time for the Cedar Key Seafood Festival, the 2014 Cedar Key Woman’s Club Calendar arrived in town. Last year this wonderful souvenir sold out in less than a month and the quality of this year’s production will guarantee even higher sales.
When Standard Time began on Sunday, Nov. 3, lawn and landscape irrigation returned to one day per week for residents and others within the Suwannee River Water Management District’s (District) 15-county region.

Months before the government sequestration, the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge was awarded a grant to supplement Cedar Key School science field-study trips to the Refuge for real world learning. Suddenly, the federal sequestration required that all grant funds be held in case of a government emergency; Refuge staff and school officials were very disappointed.
The Levy County Commission has unanimously approved a proclamation naming the week of Nov. 10-16 as Veterans Appreciation Week and agreed to participate in the countywide Veterans Day Parade being hosted by the City of Cedar Key.
