It appears the Grinch is a little late in coming this year as burglaries of several local residences have occurred since our previous press release of Jan. 9. One home owner lost an end table, two potted, six-foot-tall palm trees, four glass flower vases and a hand dolly from the side porch of his home. Total value of the loss was approximately $970.

They were visiting family members, who are also personal friends of mine, there. Although the trip was long and the visit was short, the time was well spent. They are also an exceptional group of people. Also, they are mostly Gators.

Generally, things continue to be rather quiet for your local police officers, except for several disturbing criminal mischief complaints that occurred on Oct. 21. Apparently vandals decided they did not like the fence surrounding the parking lot at Gulf Boulevard and Hodges Avenue, as well as two other locations that were destroyed.
