    Florida Forest Service Awards $110,000 to the Levy County School Board and Levy County Board of County Commissioners
    Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam today announced that the Florida Forest Service is distributing $55,397 to the Levy County Board of County Commissioners, and $55,397 to the Levy County School Board as a result of revenue generated from operating the Goethe State Forest.

    It's been one month now that my other half, Tyler Beckham, has been stationed in Japan. (For those of you who are geographically challenged like I am, that's the opposite side of the world.) In dealing with the multiple hardships that dating someone who is an entire day ahead of you with little communication brings, I have come to a conclusion that I think will make day to day life much easier for those of us left at home. Ready for this?

  • Jenny Biermen is named Cedar Key School’s 2012 valedictorian

    2012 Senior Jenny Biermen is the valedictorian; she has gone to Cedar Key School since 6th grade. In her years at CKS she has taken all the required classes to graduate as well as marine science, teacher’s aid and the work program - and while doing all this managed an almost a perfect GPA.

  • Bartholemy takes first in FFA District

     Sarah Bartholemy, a freshman FFA member in Cedar Key placed first in the FFA District Creed Speaking Contest. Sarah advances to the State Finals in June in Orlando. The State Champion in this event will represent Florida in the National Creed Speaking Contest in October.  Good luck Sarah!

    Sue Ice, principal at Cedar Key School, did not intend to retire this year. She was planning on doing it next year.
