    The Levy County Tourist Development Council will have its bi-monthly meeting Thursday, March 29, at 6 p.m.
    at the  Levy County Visitors Bureau, 620 N. Hathaway Ave., Bronson. The meeting is open to the public.

    Annual yard sale at CK Museum
    The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Cedar Key Museum State Park will host the Friends of Cedar Key State Park’s annual fundraising yard sale on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1.

    Tuesday
    Democrats meet Tuesday in Bronson
    The Levy County Democratic Committee will meet at the Bronson Restaurant on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
    Anyone interested in the Democratic Party, discussing the upcoming elections or just interested in getting involved in the Democratic Party is welcome to come to the meeting and join.
    The committee is seeking people that are interested in the party and interested in fairness in the political system.
    A dinner menu will be available for purchase.

    Pre-school Storytime
    These programs use books and music to present the young children with the concept that books, reading and libraries are fun and enjoyed at all ages.  The programs last 30 minutes.

    Thursday

    Chamber members to hear about sign changes
    On March 15, at 8:30 am at Natures Landing Condos conference room, City Attorney Norm Fugate will give a presentation about possible changes to Cedar Key’s Sign Ordinance. Please plan on attending so that you may determine if and how these proposed changes might affect your business. This is a quarterly Chamber Board Meeting which is open to the general membership. Please respond to the chamber if you are planning on attending to ensure adequate seating and/or the need for a new venue.

  • Woman’s Club Fashion Show set

    The Cedar Key Woman’s Club will present its Fashion Show and Luncheon on Thursday, March 15. This annual event has become the hit of the town in the past few seasons. Featuring Cedar Key models with fashions coordinated by Nancy Stephens from Déjà Vu on Second Street, the entertainment value is worth the price of the ticket.

    The Cedar Key Garden Club’s Annual Spring Plant Sale will be held by City Hall on C Street on March 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will have a large variety of native plants to choose from.

  • Wild about wildlife

    The Cedar Key Arts Center held a Salute to Wildlife March 3. From 5-7 p.m. guests explored the exhibit sipping happily on wine and enjoying the food.
    In appreciation of the Suwanne Refuge, the art was to feature the area. Ann Kamzelski and Jack Murphy were among the artists with work on display.
    Kamzalski is a digital photographer. Armed with her camera and Photoshop, she creates images that keep the viewer wondering.

  • CK Eagles to hold fund raising event for Bergers March 12

     On Monday March 12, from 5-7:30 p.m. The public is invited to a Jambalaya dinner and cake walk at the Cedar Key Eagles Aerie home on the corner of 3rd and B Streets.

  • Florida writer speaks at CK library

    Jeff Klinkenberg, who writes about Florida culture and people, will visit the Cedar Key Public Library on at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, to give a program about his unique perspective on his home state. Klinkenberg’s talk, part of the library’s current “Our Stories” series, will be an entertaining, informative look at some of the state’s more colorful people, places and events.
