Things are changing at the Cedar Key Beacon and they are all part of our plan to stick around town.
Ada Lang, a longtime Cedar Key resident, is taking over reporting duties. She has already started covering the city. Last weekend she got her feet wet — and maybe a little dirty — participating in and covering the coastal cleanup.
She's got a lot of stories in mind and she wants to shine a spotlight on the people who make Cedar Key unique. You can welcome her and send along news tips at email@example.com.
I have enjoyed my short stint covering CK and I'm looking forward to doing more stories. This week's candidates forum hosted by the Lions Club was a nice event. Everyone was well behaved and the array of sweets made by the town's best bakers were tempting.
In true Cedar Key fashion, residents can have a hand in how this website works. We have many new interactive features that the old page lacked. You can enter activities on the calendar, write a blog, submit a photo of your pet, send in news and letters to the editor.
Explore the site's many links and let us know what you think.
