Tri-County Outreach needs donations, help

-A A +A

Tri County Outreach was established in 1990 as an organization serving the tri-county area. It began when the need became apparent that there were people in our very own community that lacked food and clothing. The goal of Tri-County Outreach is to meet those needs.

Tri-County Outreach is located on U.S. Highway 19 right in the heart of the downtown area of Chiefland.

In 2012 it helped 1,722 people and gave away 21,167 pounds of food. And at Christmas, since there were no Toys for Tots, it was able to help 61 children with some very good toys.

TCO is the only Emergency Food Pantry that is open to the public for four days a week, 52 weeks a year. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

At the moment, the organization is in dire need of volunteers, no matter for how long or how many days, and also donations, especially of household goods.

The Outreach depends on the sale of our household goods (at a very reasonable price) to help pay for the food given away.
