The Cedar Key City Commission has narrowed the list candidates for the city administrator position to three and will interview the candidates in the New Year.
The decision came in the commission's last meeting of the year on Tuesday. The three candidates are: Rosemary Cantelli of Cedar Key, Eileen Bower of Cedar Key and Britt Nichols of Kansas.
The commission determined which candidates to interview by ranking the applications after the last commission meeting and City Clerk Frances Hodge announced the rankings of the top candidates.
In her application, Cantelli noted she has been a project engineer at Fort Benning, Ga., and once owned a restaurant in Alabama. She is also an application specialist.
Bowers noted in her application she has 30 years of professional and management expertise. She is also a member of the Cedar Key Energy Advisory Panel and has authored a number of “Conservation Corner” columns published in the Cedar Key Beacon.
Nichols is an inspector general for the Kansas Juvenile Authority, a position appointed by the governor. He is an attorney and has served as an assistant attorney general and in the Kansas legislature.
