Teen dies after Thursday wreck

On Chiefland teen is dead and two Cedar Key teens were injured in a nighttime crash about 4.5 miles outside Chiefland on Thursday, Feb. 12.

Jeremy Alan Smith, 17, Chiefland, the driver of the truck, died from his injuries Monday night at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

Injured in the crash were Cheyenne Larkin Wells, 16, and Laura Alice Odell, 19, both of Cedar Key. They were treated and released from Shands.

Another passenger, Cody James Norwood, 18, of Chiefland, sustained minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle for medical care
