CK tracksters at District track meet

The Cedar Key School track teams traveled to Oak Hall on Tuesday, April 19, to compete in the district meet.

The girls team finished 7th place and the boys team placed 8th out of 14 schools attending.

Annie McCain and Sam Parks were district champions in adaptive shot-put.

Others placing include:

Ashlyn Allen, 2nd in shot-put, 4th in high jump;

Jacob Bishop, 3rd in discuss, 6th in shot-put;

Abimael Rivera, 4th in pole vault;

Amanda Robinson, 2nd in pole vault;

Jayden Beckham, 4th in pole vault;

Cassie Lozier, 5th in pole vault;

Walker Emrick, 5th in pole vault;

Brandon Bowling, 6th in pole vault;

Mikey Beckham, 7th in pole vault,

Jasmin Jackson, 6th in triple jump; and

Makaylynn Bowling, Jasmin Jackson, Amanda Robinson and Cassie Lozier placed 7th in the 4x1 relay.

Ashlyn Allen, Jayden Beckham, Amanda Robinson, Abimael Rivera and Jacob Bishop qualify for Thursday’s regionals in Clearwater for the shot-put, discuss, and pole vault events.

This 3rd nine weeks, students have shown incredible determination by maintaining their grades throughout the year.

These students in grades 6th through 12th have not allowed the last approaching days of school to stray them from making their way onto the honor role.

Students are going to need to keep those grades high and prepare for their upcoming end of the year testing.

National Teacher Appreciation Week

National Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up. May 2nd through the 6th, people will be celebrating just how awesome teachers really are, all around the country.

During this week, Cedar Key School will have an array of events happening hosted by school clubs, local organizations, and businesses.
