Fowlers Bluff at flood stage today, crest near 8.1 feet April 22

LIVE OAK, FL, Thursday, April 16, noon – Following is a summary of all the latest flood reports and crest predictions issued by the National Weather Service for stations along local rivers.

SUWANNEE RIVER

White Springs –Falling, and below flood stage.

Suwannee Springs – Falling, and below flood stage.

Ellaville – Falling, after cresting on April 10 near 63.8 feet. Expected to fall below flood stage April 26. The crest stage was a foot below the 1973 flood, and 2 feet above the 1998 flood.

Dowling Park – Falling, after cresting on April 12 near 55 feet. Expected to fall below flood stage on Monday, April 20. The crest stage was 0.9 feet above the 1998 flood.

Luraville – Falling, after cresting near 46.8 on April 14. The 1998 flood crest was 47.1 feet.

Branford –Appears to be cresting near 32.7 feet. The 1998 flood crest was 34.07 feet.

Wilcox – Currently above flood stage and rising. Predicted crest is near 15.6 feet on Tuesday, April 21. The 1998 flood crest was 16.84 feet.

Manatee Springs – Expected to rise above flood stage on Friday, April 17, and crest near 11.6 feet on Tuesday, April 21. The 1998 crest was 12.41 feet.

Fowlers Bluff – Above flood stage and rising. Expected to crest near 7.9 feet on Wednesday, April 22. The 1998 flood crest was 8.61 feet.

 

WITHLACOOCHEE

Pinetta – Falling steadily, and is below flood stage. The river crested here late April 6 near 88.5 feet, 2.7 feet above the record stage observed on April 5, 1948.

 

ALAPAHA

Statenville – Falling, and expected to fall below flood stage on April 25. The river crested here late April 7, near 1.7 feet above the record stage observed on April 6, 1948. According to the US Geological Survey, the 1948 stage was the maximum stage observed since 1862, from information taken from a local resident near the time of that flood.

 

SANTA FE RIVER

Near Fort White –Appears to be near crest at 26.5 feet. The 1998 flood crest was 33 feet.

3 Rivers Estates – Major flooding occurring. Expected crest is near 26.8 today. The 1998 flood crest was 29.92.

129 Bridge – Above flood stage. Expected crest is near 26.8 today. The 1998 flood crest was 29.54.

AUCILLA

Lamont – Currently falling, after a secondary crest yesterday. The date at which it will fall below flood stage is undetermined. Minor flooding is occurring.

Wilcox – Currently above flood stage and rising. Predicted crest is near 16.1 feet on Tuesday, April 21. The 1998 flood crest was 16.84 feet.

Manatee Springs – Expected to rise above flood stage Thursday, and crest near 12.1 feet on Tuesday, April 21. The 1998 crest was 12.41 feet.

Fowlers Bluff – Above flood stage and rising. Expected to crest near 8.1 feet on Wednesday, April 22. The 1998 flood crest was 8.61 feet.

Fowlers Bluff – Expected to rise above flood stage later today, and crest near 8.4 feet on April 22. The 1998 flood crest was 8.61 feet.

 

WITHLACOOCHEE

Pinetta – Falling steadily, and is below flood stage. Additional rain in the area overnight will not cause a new crest, but will slow the fall according to the National Weather Service.

 

ALAPAHA

Statenville – Falling, but still in major flood category. Expected to fall below major flood level on April 15. The date at which it will fall below flood stage is undetermined.

 

SANTA FE RIVER

Near Fort White –Above flood stage and rising. Predicted crest is near 29.4 feet on April 18. The 1998 flood crest was 33 feet.

3 Rivers Estates – Major flooding occurring. Expected to crest near 28.6 feet on April 18. The 1998 flood crest was 29.92.

129 Bridge – Above flood stage and rising. Expected to crest near 28.5 feet on April 18. The 1998 flood crest was 29.54.

AUCILLA

Lamont – Currently above flood stage and rising, due to heavy rains last night. A crest prediction is unavailable at this time.

Ellaville – Falling, after cresting on April 10 at 63.83. Expected to fall below flood stage April 23. The crest stage was a foot below the 1973 flood, and 2 feet above the 1998 flood.

Dowling Park – Falling, after cresting on Saturday, April 12 at 55 feet. Expected to fall below flood stage on April 24. The crest stage was 0.9 feet above the 1998 flood.

Luraville – Currently at 46.65 and appears to be near or at crest. The 1998 flood crest was 47.1 feet.

Branford –Above flood stage and rising. Predicted crest is 34.0 feet on Friday, April 17. The 1998 flood crest was 34.07 feet.

The 1998 flood crest was 47.1 feet.     Branford –Above flood stage and rising. Predicted crest is 34.2 feet. The 1998 flood crest was 34.07 feet.     Rock Bluff – Rising. Estimated crest is 25.9 feet. The 1998 flood crest was 25.1 feet.     Wilcox – Expected to rise above flood stage early Mondy, April 13.
