Visiting constituents in Cedar Key on Wednesday

State Rep. Charlie Stone of Ocala (R-District 22), who represents Levy County is the new vice chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

Stone, who was holding office hours in Chiefland on Wednesday morning and in Cedar Key in the afternoon, said Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford had just informed him of the appointment. Stone will be visiting with constituents in Cedar Key from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at City Hall.

The leadership appointment is good news for the freshman legislator who also serves on the Innovation Committee, Civil Justice Subcommittee, Education Appropriations Subcommittee and the Local & Federal Affairs Committee.

State Rep. Dennis Baxley of Ocala (R-District 23), who represented part of Levy County before the 2012 redistricting,  is chairman of the Judiciary Committee.

Because both representatives represent parts of neighboring Marion County it brings great influence to Noth Central Florida on the committee.
