I recently came to Cedar Key with my husband of 28 years to have a “day away” from the rat race of the city life. We came over to relax, see a few family members, eat some seafood and attend Homecoming.
I took my husband to Shell Mound, one of the best spots for a sunset, then drove to Joe Rains Beach, one of my favorite hangouts, back in the day, then on to dinner. Then off to the Big Game, Homecoming!
Thirty plus years ago I was in that gym watching my brother play basketball, so it was an amazing experience for me! We were so impressed with the varsity game - they played their hearts out and won!
The cheerleaders were fun to watch and really kept the crowd going and the Homecoming court was great, everyone looked amazing! Such a different perspective than the big city games. It was a perfect day.
I’m so blessed to have a niece attending so I could be a part of the Homecoming events. I especially enjoyed the dance routine after the big game, they did an amazing job!
Cedar Key holds a special place in my heart and I’m still proud to be a Shark!
