Memorial Day Ceremony

Informal plans for a Memorial Day ceremony in Cedar Key have been announced by local veterans representative Ivan Chubb. 

Chubb, who is also a minister, said he will be at Cedar Key Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, to offer prayers in memory of those who have given their lives for their country. "Anyone is welcome to come out and I will pray with them, Chubb said. 

He said there will not be a Marine Corps League color guard for the occasion. 

Chubb is participating in a Memorial Day Ceremony at Rosemary Hill Cemetery in Bronson on Monday, May 27, at 1 p.m. The AMVETS Posts No. 88 of Bronson and No. 444 of Williston, and the VFW Post 5625 of Chiefland Color Guard will be participating in the Bronson commemoration. The speaker is John Meeks, county commissioner for District 1.
