Cedar Key’s Girl Scout Junior Troop #1630 attended Founders' Field Day in Bronson, on Saturday, Oct. 22. The event was sponsored by the Sawamish Area Unit to celebrate the birthday of Girl Scouts of America founder, Juliette Gordon Low.
The troop, along with several members from Cedar Key's Daisy and Brownie troops, enjoy a fun day of games and activities, as well as, fellowship with other girls from throughout Levy, Gilchrist and Dixie counties. Their favorite events were the three-legged race and the spoon race.
This year marks the 100 year anniversary of Girl Scouting. This was the first of many events and celebrations scheduled throughout the year in honor of this anniversary, making this a very special time to be a Girl Scout.
