The new Levy County Fair opened Thursday with an appearance by Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Charles Bronson and forestry best-practices advocate Smokey the Bear.
The Fair will go on through Nov. 12, with music events, stock shows, horsemanship and riding competitions, tractor pulls, and, of course, all the corn dogs you can eat.
The Levy County Fair is at Williston's Airport Industrial Park on U.S. Hwy. 41, south of Williston. Tickets are $8 at the gate and $10 Saturday, Seniors $5 and children under 2, free. All shows and exhibits included.
