The Levy County Fair is ongoing at Airport Industrial Park in Williston. Saturday morning saw the finale of the last three months' karaoke contests, and the stock barn was the scene of a poultry show. Williston Horseman's Park, adjacent to the fairgrounds, had hairpin racing in all age groups, from peewees on up.

Cedar Key is well-represented at the fair, with Sam Beckham and Naomi Couhurs placing second and third in the karaoke final and Joshua Wilson bringing his hydroponic systems into the agricultural vendor area.

Even more exciting than the midway rides -- which are a treat -- was a ride over the midway in Marvin Franks' 1950 Cessna 170A, which he keeps at Cedars Airfield.

Franks gave rides Saturday over the fairgrounds from an airstrip just south of the fairgrounds' south parking lot. He returns Sunday to the fairgrounds airstrip to give more rides to those eager to get a new perspective on the Levy County Fair.
