Monotype Printing with Akua Class taught by Libby Cagle, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cedar Key Arts Center.

Introduction to monotype, inking the plate, registering the plate, transferring ink to paper, creating texture, chine colle’ and other collage. Oct. 19 

Pine Needle Basketry taught by Diane Moore, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Cedar Key Arts Center. Learn how to create a historic pine needle basket in the same way as the early Florida pioneers did. You will receive individual hands-on instruction as you create a small trinket basket. (Please visit Diane’s website to view basket possibilities: www.Southern PineStudio.com). Oct. 22-29

Beginning Throwing with Clay taught by Amy Gernhardt, eight nights of classes 6-9 p.m. with five mandatory appearances per student. The Cedar Key Arts Center will be available for additional practice times to enhance proficiency. A sign-up sheet for practice times will be available the first night.  Students will make a piece (or at most two pieces). Limited to 10 students. This is a beginner class so we will be focusing on techniques: centering and opening, pulling up walls of cylinder, trim and clean cylinder, load bisque kiln, glaze finished cylinder, load and fire kiln.
