Keyhole’s featured artist works in wood

-A A +A

The Cedar Keyhole Gallery Artist of the Month for August is Joanne Pirzer. She uses the skills of woodworker, painter and sculptor in combining various types of wood into an overall wall hanging. It may be a tropical or wildlife scene but the sense of realistic presentation is immediately striking.

Having accomplished her skills over many years, Joanne still approaches each new project with a sense of awe and inspiration - which is why her work is always refreshing.

She makes items such as cedar ornaments that can be used in a closet or dresser drawer or on a tree, from as little as $4; wood children’s puzzles with non-toxic paint for $10 each, more elaborate puzzles depicting some of the scenes on the garden wall just outside the Arts Center and many larger wall hangings.

The Cedar Keyhole is proud to have her latest works on display for the entire month of August and is located on 2nd Street [across from the Library] in Cedar Key, also maintains a display of many other works by over 20 contributors to its artists’ cooperative.

These works include paintings [oils, acrylics, pastels and watercolors], metal works, stained glass, jewelry, fiber arts, leatherwork, pottery and woodworking. The shops are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
