The University of Florida IFAS Cooperative Extension Service, in partnership with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Aquaculture, is offering an introductory workshop on intensive oyster cultivation.
The workshop will be held Thursday, Dec. 5, from 1-4 p.m. at the FWC Senator Kirkpatrick Marine Lab, 11350 SW 153rd Ct., Cedar Key.
Topics to be introduced in this workshop include:
• “Hands-on” discussion of oyster culture gear types – advantages, disadvantages, costs and considerations for siting, deployment and operational management;
• Where to buy culture gear and oyster seed? Information on suppliers.
