The Middle School Girl's Basketball teams scored a decisive 21-13 win against Creekside Christian, this past Tuesday, Jan. 14. The leading scorers were Savannah Beckham, with three two-pointers and one foul shot, and Molly Gordon with three two-pointers. Other scorers were Camryn Lumley, Bianca Spraggs, and Meikala Hunter.

The team as a whole only received six fouls in the first two quarters and two fouls in the third and fourth quarter and kept the other team from reaching the bonus. Creekside on the other hand fouled eight times in the first half and seven in the second half, sending Cedar Key to the foul line.

In the previous week the Cedar Key Sharks played Yankeetown and were narrowly defeated with a final score of 20-16. At the half Cedar Key was ahead by two points, 10-8. Savannah Beckham was the lead scorer with eight points, Camryn Lumley followed close behind with four points. Cedar Key's zone defense wasn't enough for the aggressive Yankeetown scorers.

Cedar Key Sharks were defeated by one heartbreaking point, 33-32 against Creekside last Monday.

Cedar Key's Josh Sills lead all scorers with 24 points, which included one three pointer with one minute left on the clock, the crowd went crazy and was very supportive. Stephen Bainbridge added four points, Thomas Benefield and Devin Littlefield had one basket each.

Against Yankeetown the Sharks were only able to score 14 points to the victors' 46.

Josh Sills was the lead scorer with 12 points and Stephen Bainbridge added two points. The defense wasn't able to contain their much faster opponents who scored many uncontested lay-ups.
