Free Kids Photo Safari planned

-A A +A

The Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge will host a Kids Photo Safari on Tuesday,  June 19, from 9-1 p.m. at Refuge headquarters for grades 3 – 9.  Digital cameras and nature journals are provided for the photographers to keep notes on what they see. Reserve your child’s camera now. Ten slots are available - and it’s all free.
Kids will meet the Ranger at the Refuge Office to start their photographic journey. They will shoot for two hours, eat their lunch, then decorate their journals while the photos are being printed. Kids should bring a lunch and drink.
This is in effort to encourage youth to connect with nature in the outdoors, instead of merely through a computer or television. Kids who are active in the outdoors tend to be calmer, more curious and perform better in school.
Call Ranger Pam at 352-493-0238, extension 223 to reserve a camera for your child.
