Keyboarding course offered at CCF Levy Center
The College of Central Florida Levy Center will offer a Keyboarding Fundamentals course for beginning typists and individuals who want to increase productivity by learning touch typing. The course will meet Mondays, Aug. 23 through Sept. 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The course fee is $45. Students should have access to a computer with Internet service in order to practice lessons between classes. Enroll at the Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd., by telephone at 352-493-9533, or online at CFItraining.cf.edu. The deadline for enrollment is Monday, Aug. 16. Note for CES Kindergarten Students The first week of school is called stagger start. Your child will only come to school one day the first week in order for them to become acquainted with the classroom setting. Letters telling you what day your child will start should arrive either August 17-18. If you do not receive one by then you can find out on Friday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to noon at the “Meet & Greet.” Or call the school at 493-6040. See you soon. Head Start hosts open house Childhood Development Services, Inc., Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms are hosting an open house Aug. 20 from 1-3 p.m. All families of enrolled children and the community are invited to come out to meet the teachers and tour the classrooms. CES holds meet & greet Chiefland Elementary is having a “Meet & Greet” on Friday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to noon. Parents are encouraged to use this opportunity to meet with their child’s new teacher. Be sure to stop by the cafeteria to speak to people about tutoring, Girl Scouts, PTO and other school-related issues. CES has new hours Chiefland Elementary School has extended its class times. The new school hours will be 7:55 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The first bell rings at 7:55 and the tardy bell will ring at 8 a.m. Cedar Key School new hours Cedar Key School has changed its hours for the upcoming school year. New class hours will be 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. School starts Aug. 23.
