Attorney Jolie Davis of Cedar Key has been appointed to the Levy County RESTORE Act Advisory Committee by the Levy County Commission. The appointment was made after the advisory group recommended her appointment as an at-large representative to fill a spot that has been vacant for several months.

The committee will consider and recommend how money from any settlement and fines resulting from the April 16, 2010, BP oil spill that will come to Levy County will be spent. The dispersal of funds is outlined in legislation passed by Congress in 2012, called the RESTORE Act. It sends the money to the five states most affected by the explosion and oil spill from the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.

Davis is an associate attorney in the law firm of Norm Fugate in Williston. Davis graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1990 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1991 and practiced law in New York State. She returned to Florida and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994.

She is married to Heath Davis, vice president of Drummond Bank and a clam farmer, the couple has two girls.
