Heart of Dixie Purrs & Spurs
The National Wild Turkey Federation’s Heart of Dixie Purrs & Spurs Chapter will host its 1st annual Hunting Heritage Banquet on Saturday May 11 at the 1st District Community Center, on Hwy. 349 in Old Town. There’s going to be fun for the whole family with games, raffles, auctions, a chance to win several guns and a great meal. Captain’s Meeting and Calcutta
There will be a Captain's Meeting and Calcutta on Friday, May 17, with a 6:30 p.m. Social and a 7 p.m. dinner at the Cedar Key Community Center. BYOB.
The 9th Annual Seafood Feast of Christ Episcopal Church, Cedar Key, will be held at the Community Center on Saturday, May 18, from noon to 2 p.m.
Cost is $10 and includes a menu of fried fish, steamed clams, boiled shrimp and all the trimmings with homemade desserts.

Proceeds will go to fund the Outreach Ministry of the church.
Rotary Fishing Tournament
Chiefland Rotary Club Fishing Tournament will be held Saturday, May 18 beginning at 7 a.m. in Cedar Key. Free Goody Bag and T-shirt for each entrant, cash and prizes up to $7,500. Come join us for a great day of fishing and support Chiefland Rotary Club projects. Boat entry fees includes two anglers, two T-shirts and two dinner tickets. Entry fee is $125 per boat, which includes captain and mate; $150 per boat after May 2, extra anglers at $50 each and $10 each for extra dinner tickets. The 59th Annual Watermelon Festival will be held Saturday, June 1, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with arts, crafts and food vendors. The annual Watermelon Festival Parade will begin at 11 a.m. with the Watermelon Queen being shown off in the parade along with winners from each category.
