Month of June
Artist of the Month
The Artist of the Month at the Cedar Keyhole is Cynthia Pagel, a multi-faceted artist who is a printmaker, graphic designer, painter, sign painter and custom picture framer. Pagel’s prints and encaustics are exhibited in the Cedar Keyhole. Her images run the gamut from abstract to graphic to realistic and many of her prints are hand painted.
The Cedar Keyhole, a 23 artist co-op, is located on 2nd St. The gallery is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Monday, June 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. Chiefland’s Beef O’Brady’s will donate 10% of the proceeds from your orders to transport Operation Christmas Child’s “shoeboxes” from our area to Atlanta, Ga.
Churches, schools and many more will be making “shoeboxes”—filled with toys, school supplies and basic necessities. Our packed shoe box gifts, joined by millions of others, are now on their way to needy children in 100 countries. During the 2012 collection season, Operation Christmas Child reached a milestone—more than 100 million children have been impacted by the power of a simple gift since 1993.

Light station to open twice this summer
Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge announced the dates for its upcoming Seahorse Key Open House events. There will be eight in all - more than ever before.
Manager Andrew Gude explained, “We hope to introduce more visitors to the Cedar Keys Light Station by offering more open house dates. Each event will be thematic featuring either the research being carried out by the University of Florida’s Marine Research Lab or the history of the island and its historic light station.”
The next open house event will take place on July 6, to celebrate the fledging of the young birds of the rookery. Later, on Aug. 3, the anniversary of the light station will be celebrated by the Refuge and Levy County and Cedar Key Historical Societies.
Mark your calendars and join the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge at Seahorse Key for spectacular summer events for the whole family.
