 Month of August

Artist of the Month

The Artist of the Month at the Cedar Keyhole is Marsha Schwartz, a mosaic artist and resident of Cedar Key. Schwartz creates mosaics using venetian glass, pique assiette (broken china) and found objects. Her range of works include frames and mirrors, mosaiced birds and chickens, jewelry boxes, trivets, candlesticks, vases and journals. Her specialty is mosaic fish – utilizing all three mediums colorfully and fancifully.  She and her husband, Chick Schwartz, created the Fisherman and Fish in the Cedar Key Art Center Sculpture Garden and she was instrumental in designing and implementing the underwater scene gracing the garden’s retaining wall.

The Cedar Keyhole, a 23 artist co-op, is located on 2nd St., Cedar Key.  A wide range of art and gifts is available, all handmade and created by the artists of the co-op. The gallery is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Christmas and Thanksgiving.
