Month of April

Artist of the Month

The Artist of the Month at the Cedar Keyhole, is the very talented potter Carol Seidman.

Carol creates ceramics, both decorative and utilitarian, with sophisticated shapes and glazes. Her works include, but are not limited to, woven bread baskets, apple bakers, trays, serving platters and plates and vases.

The Cedar Keyhole, a 23 artist co-op, is located on 2nd St. in the quaint fishing and artist village of Cedar Key. The gallery is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday

Phones for Earth Day campaign

Bring to the Faraway Inn as many used phones, used iPads, spent inkjet cartridges as you can. Let your family and friends know, post a notice and a box at your business for collections. Be part of saving our Earth.

Need some assistance getting started, call Doreen Bauer at 543-8083 and ask how you can  help our Cedar Key Sharks win big this year.

Faraway Inn will then mail them in to Phoneraiser by April 30. Funds received will be forwarded to the Cedar Key School PTO Fund-raising Scholarship Program. Save the earth and make money for the Sharks.

High Springs celebrates pioneers

The 37th Annual Pioneer Days Festival is this weekend in downtown High Springs. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Along with the usual features of arts and craft vendors, a great food court, heritage village, kids korral, shoot-out re-enactments and live entertainment, this year we will have the Seminole Indian Dance Circle, a special Railroad history display, a Business Expo and much more. For more information call 386-454-3120.
