Teachers are planning for the students to be back in many ways. They are getting their rooms and materials ready; making instructional plans and schedules, based on assessment scores and student needs.

Something new this year is the theme of SHARK PRIDE that involves characteristics that we would like everyone to exhibit.

We are welcoming three new faculty members, Lauren Adams, high school English; Raymond Powers, high school science; and Kevin Hodgkins, high school math.

A new district policy is now in place for elementary students, regarding tardiness andchecking out from school.  In elementary school, every three unexcused tardies will count as one absence and will count toward the maximum of eight absences per nine weeks. Therefore, it will be important to send a note in excusing a tardy or early check-out.

We are pleased with the new road construction and hope that it will make visitor parking more accessible.  There are now four visitor’s and two handicap parking spaces on the school side of the road, in front of the school.

There is a new parking lot behind the gym that will primarily be used for senior parking but it will not be completed until after school begins. Until then, seniors may use the parking spots in front of the school, as in the past.

We have planned two open houses. The Elementary Open House will be Monday, Aug. 29, from 6-7:30 and the Middle and High School Open House will be Thursday, Sept. 1, from 6-7:30 p.m.

We invite everyone to attend, get information and meet the teachers for the new year.  We are looking forward to a productive year and encourage parents to become involved and communicate with us often, to support all the students.
