City Commissioners each designated one community member of their choice to be appointed to the Form Base Code Committee to incorporate some and replace all of the current Land Development Regulations and building codes.

Dr. Earl Starnes, retired architect, planner, and professor, was selected by Gene Hodges.

Phil Parker, Plum Creek Executive, was selected by Scott Dennision.

Vanessa Edmunds, photographer, writer and former city commissioner, was selected by Pat O’Neal.

Ada Lang, building designer, was selected by Sue Colson.

Frank Patillo, banker and financier, was selected by Heath Davis.

“These members will serve as long as it works,” Mayor Heath Davis said. “They serve right along side us.” If one of the commission members leaves, the committee member associated with them will leave as well, said Davis.

On the proposed rigorous schedule, the committee will immediately begin collecting existing data in digital format such as maps, building plans, and photographs. Committee members will then perform site visits, documenting various aspects of the community through photography and written reports.

Commissioners said they want to stay informed of the committee’s progress throughout the duration of the appointments.
