Businessman Bruce R. Wilson, president of the Cedar Key Chamber of Commerce, is one of three appointments made to the Levy County Tourist Development  Council.

Wilson, who was appointed to the board by a unanimous vote of the Levy County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, will serve a four-year term as an at-large member.

The nine-member TDC also has representatives from the tourism industry, county and municipal governments.

Wilson and his wife operate Ada Blue Cafe, Sunset RV Park and Motel, and Flying Fish Airboat Adventures. In his application for the position, Wilson said he has been in business for 11 1/2 years and “I feel strongly that Levy County is the perfect getaway for a real Forida vacation.”

Also named to four year terms on the TDC were Williston City Councilor Jack Screws Jr. who is one of two the municipal government members, and Daryl Kirby of Kirby Family Farms in Williston, who fills an at-large seat.
