Cedar Key takes fourth at meet

The Cedar Key School track team was among teams from seven schools that participated in the 21st Suwannee Invitational Track Meet in Live Oak on March 10.  Host Suwannee High took first place while Branford High came in second, Columbia High was third and Cedar Key was fourth.
Brooke Allen, a 10th grade student, took first place in the high jump with 1.5 meters, while Jemima Cahours came in 7th with 1.27 meters.
Lauren Batholemy took second place in pole vault with 2.13 meters. Chloe Reynolds took second in the triple jump with 8.68 meters.
Cedar Key’s 4x100 meter relay team took second place with a time of 59.21. In the 4x400 relay the team came in third with a time of 5:09.79.
In the 4x800 relay, the team of Lauren and Sarah Bartholemy, Jemima Cahours and Mackenzie Kirkbride came in third with a time of 13:04.34.
Jemima Cahours, a 10th grade student,  came in second in the 800 meter race with a time of 3:07.91.
Chloe Reynolds, an 11th grade student,  came in second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18:38, while Sarah Bartholemy, a 9th grade student, came in 8th with a time of 21.75.
