Refuge Hosts Holiday Lighthouse: Nov. 23 and Dec 28

The Refuge is hosting a Thanksgiving Holiday Lighthouse Open House on Saturday, Nov. 23, 12-5 p.m. and a Holiday Open House Saturday, Dec. 28, 9-3 p.m. on Seahorse Key.   The University of Florida shares information about their lab on Seahorse Key for visitors during this wonderful outing.  Enjoy a day of history, heritage and ecology for the holidays.


Cedar Key Arts Center Presents Harriet Huss and Friends: Nov. 23

The Nov./Dec. exhibit in the main gallery will be a collection of art by a group of regionally acclaimed artists. The Member Artist Gallery show will feature smaller pieces which will be on sale during the holiday season. The shows run from Nov. 23 through Dec. 30. The opening is Nov. 23 at 4 p.m.


‘A Cedar Key Christmas’ Tree Lighting Ceremony: Nov. 29

‘A Cedar Key Christmas’ will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29 with a tree lighting ceremony. Come watch the Great Cedar Tree of Cedar Key light up for the holiday season, and sing some carols with your fellow neighbors. A wonderful way to kick off the Season.


Cedar Key Woman’s Club Fall Market:

Nov 30

This annual event is a great outing on Thanksgiving weekend at the Woman’s Club building on SR24 from 9–2 p.m. Art, gifts, crafts, homemade baked goods and preserves, a snack bar and several yard sale tables make shopping a great community outing. Vendors are welcome,  call 352-543-6659.


Dilly Dally Open House: Dec. 3

Dilly Dally Gally, located on Dock Street, is having its annual Christmas Open House on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 3-7 p.m. There will be refreshments and door prizes. Call Dilly Dally Gally for more info at 352-543-9146.


Island Arts Holiday Open House: Dec. 6

Island Arts is hosting its Open House on Friday, Dec. 6 from 5–7 p.m.  Load up on local hand-crafted goods for the Holiday Season. It is located at 509 2nd Street.


Arts Center Holiday Mini Projects Party:

9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Come to the Arts Center to create some holiday memories with handmade crafts including a holiday bracelet to wear and a mini wreath to hang. Free. Bring a plate of cookies or light snacks to share. Hot chocolate, tea, or coffee and lots of holiday smiles provided.


Methodist Women Holiday Bazaar: Dec. 14 

The Cedar Key Methodist Women will host their Holiday Bazaar Saturday, Dec. 14 at Fellowship Hall located on 4th and SR24. Baked goods, crafts and cookie walk from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch also available: choice of beef stew or chili for $10, kids 12 and under $6.


Lighted Boat Parade, Santa Clam and Community Night in the Park: Dec. 14 

Start the evening out by watching the boats of Cedar Key decorated and lit as they follow a water course around the back of Dock Street. It begins at 5:45; line-up at 5:30 p.m.  When the parade ends at City Park, visit with Santa Clam and enjoy a community-wide potluck. Bring a covered dish if you can.
